HyBBX — Terms of use (v2.4.0)

HyBBX is a session service for low-bandwidth links: mail, chat,
conference, and commands over telnet, SSH, or WebSocket. RF paths
(packet radio, ARDOP, and similar) connect via HBX circuits; on-air use
depends on your site and licence.

1. Your responsibility
Access is at your own risk. You answer for what you send, post, and do
on this system and on the air. The operator is not responsible for how
users or link partners behave.

2. Identity
Real names are not required. A nickname or amateur callsign is enough.
For RF and circuit links, your CALL or link identity (CALLID) must be
truthful where your licence or local rules require it. Account data used
for administration may be seen by Sysop or Admin only.

3. Data
User data is not sold. Mail and accounts remain on this host unless
disclosure is required by law.

4. Logging and security
Sessions and security events may be recorded (for example in
security.log) to run the service, fix faults, and limit abuse.

HyBBX may temporarily block an IP address, a callsign, or a circuit
link identity (CALLID) after repeated login failures, link-auth
failures, connection flooding, or other clear abuse. Blocks are short
cool-downs by default, not permanent bans. Normal chat and mail traffic
is only paced or size-limited — busy use on a slow link is expected and
does not by itself trigger a block.

5. Spam and traffic limits
Message length, mail quotas, output pacing, and similar limits keep the
system usable on slow links. They are not punishment. Only repeated,
excessive spam or misuse may lead to a security block as in section 4.

6. Acceptable use
Do not break the law. Do not engage in non-social behaviour: threats,
harassment, hate, or deliberate disruption of others. Do not attempt
to break into accounts, flood logins, or damage the system or its users.
Unlawful content or conduct may be reported to authorities where required.

Sysop, Admin, and automated security may limit, block, or revoke access without
prior notice when abuse is evident.

7. Changes
The operator may revise this notice in text/rules.txt. Read the current
text anytime with /rules or /legal.
